BasicAirData GPS Logger is an easy App for recording your place and your path.
It's a basic and lightweight GPS tracker focused on accuracy, with an eye fixed to power saving.
It works offline (with out web connection), it has NO integrated maps.
This app could be very correct in determining your altitude: allow EGM96 computerized altitude correction on settings!
You can record all of your journeys, view them with any installed external viewer, instantly from the in-app tracklist, and share them in KML, GPX, and TXT format in many ways.
The app is one hundred% Free and Open Source.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
1) Please grant Storage Permission to the External Viewer in order to use it with GPS Logger.
2) Depending on your Android Version, if you want to run GPS Logger reliably in background, you must disable ALL the battery optimisations. For instance you would verify in Android Settings, Apps, GPS Logger, Battery that the Background Activity is allowed, the Location Permission is set to Allow on a regular basis (Android 10 ), and the Battery Usage is Not Optimised.
